Can you smell the sweet fruit in the air, can you feel the stickiness of the squashed grapes in your hand, and can you imagine, with me, the taste of 2014's cabernet sauvignon?
Henri is a professor of viticulture in Bergerac keen on preserving the traditional methods of making wine. Once a year, along with his (now) 84 year old father, and several members of the local community they start the day with a hearty breakfast served with last year's wine, harvest the grapes from Henri's vineyard, and process them into the juice which is then fermented.
Watching these men turn grapes into wine by hand feels like stepping back in time and was a true honour to watch.
